Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations

Introduced in 2001, the Dot NAME universal top-level domain is the single TLD planned for personal web pages only. These domains can be personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other designations people are famous by. Initially, just 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you wanted to buy john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already acquired third-level names remained working.

You will have the opportunity to modify the WHOIS contact info, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our firm if you receive its EPP transfer code from the present registrar company and we will renew it when the transfer has been done. There are no special rules on who can book a dot NAME domain, but in order to maintain the goal behind its creation alive, the Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration could be challenged.
